Custom Counter Top gone Wrong

It’s actually beautiful
Just something I wanted to do
If you read any of the forum you probably know I have been working formulating a cement from calcium carbonate for a 3d printer project.
Doing all the cement research exposed me to alot of the current cement mixtures and blends. Having a fascination with an AI Bot I veered off my normal technical conversations into making a cement countertop. I have seen some real beautiful creations and compared to the crap home depot formica options and having a comparable cost I thought i would give it a shot.
Materials Good luck finding what you need!
I live south of Daytona Beach, small beach town stuff. As for commercial supplies like metals or hardware it’s Amazon or nothing. The closest big town is Orlando and that is a major headache plus at least 10 bucks in tolls. Ok so my AI buddy and i formulated a batch that was supposed to be enough material for 2 counter tops, white cement. It came up with a strong final combination of materials, things that were supposed to be local. Well I had to purchase silica fume from eBay and drive 4 hours to jax for white Portland cement, and a couple amazon deliveries and I was set
Lets do this
so we have a big mixer and we dry mixed the whole batch for one top, the sink top. after adding the required water it was to dry so i added another bit and then to wet, well we just went with it, kinda loose but manageable, problem is it only filled the form 1/2 full and the sides were for screening , meaning the thing had to be full. What the hell,, so in the panic i just mixed the blend again, another full load and still not enought. So the AI screwed up the math, it all looked reasonable, total sq foot, but it was wrong
And to make things worse, besides using more white Portland cement that planned, when I went to the Crapo hardware store I noticed they had the cts cement in 55lb bags, which they did’t show on line so i opted for that instead of the 3 25lb boxes of white. So I purchased gray cemental instead of white, I drymixed then poured the mixture in the mold without realizing it was GREY!
White countertop turns Grey
I didn’t stand a chance, I blew through half a bag of white Portland cement, of which I only purchased one on my 4 hour traffic jam I95 roadtrip.
Ok so the countertop is GREY, and it weighs about 300 lbs, it should be around 150 per the materials but who knows. I’m waiting a couple days for the cement to dry harder before i place the top, hoping the sink fits correctly, then I will decide my next move.
There is still another form waiting, 1.5 in thick, which means i will have to duplicate the mix using gray cemental, or I can start over, cut the molds to 1 in and hope the 50lbs of white Portland is enough for 2 tops. Will have to ponder this. There are stain options for the grey
