Issues and Solutions

Problem

• Update process took over 2 hours and was unable to reboot due to incorrect password.
• Incorrect keyboard layout was used during setup.

Solution

• Reformat the SD card and start the setup process again.
• Ensure the correct keyboard layout is selected during setup.

Media Server Setup with Kodi

Overview

• Goal was to set up a media player using a Raspberry Pi 3B to play NYPD Blue episodes stored on a thumb drive.
• The content was 98 gigs and required a large thumb drive.

Parts

• Raspberry Pi 3B
• Thumb drive (large capacity)

Steps

1. Install Kodi on Raspberry Pi. 2. Attempt to configure Kodi to auto-load on boot.

Notes

• Auto-loading Kodi on boot did not work as expected.
• The thumb drive files were not in the proper FAT system.

Networking

• Still need to figure out how to network the Raspberry Pi to access media files.
