Filament Extruder Popping Issue
Problem
The filament extruder pops when the filament doesn't advance fast enough.
Solution
1. Manually adjusted the table to ensure no restrictions on the filament path. 2. Disassembled the extruder head, cut a few inches off the Teflon tube, cleaned the path, and changed the head. 3. Performed a bed leveling to ensure proper alignment.
Problem
After changing the Teflon tube and completing a few prints, the extruder began popping again.
Solution
The issue was resolved by replacing the dirty and weak fan on the hot end upper body. This allowed for longer and higher quality prints without further issues.
Summary
The extruder popping issue can be related to both mechanical restrictions and cooling problems. Ensuring a clean and unrestricted path for the filament, along with proper cooling, is crucial for maintaining consistent extrusion.
Key Points
- Cleaning and adjusting the filament path can resolve popping issues.
- Regular maintenance of the cooling fan is essential for preventing extrusion problems.
- Troubleshooting the hot end can be straightforward once the design is understood.
