z axis mistake
Ender 5 Main Board Issue
Problem
- Nozzle on Ender 5 got clogged.
- Main board malfunctioned.
- Extruder motor turns when plugged into Z axis but a spare motor only bumps back and forth without forward progress.
Solution
- Consider replacing the silent Creality board with one where the driver can be removed.
Z Axis Retraction Issue
Problem
- Z axis retracts too fast, resulting in insufficient density of printed items.
- Issue persists even after bed leveling and software setup for Tevo.
Solution
- Check the 3 jumpers underneath the Z-motor driver (small green board next to the Z-motor connector) to ensure they all have caps on them.
Z Axis Endstop Sensor Installation
Problem
- Uncertainty about how to wire the sensor to the main board and where it gets power from.
Solution
- Plug the sensor directly into the Z-endstop socket on the motherboard.
- The sensor is tested to work with 5V, so no additional circuitry is needed.
Tarantula Printer Issues
Overview
- Issues with Tarantula printer after installing roller rails and dual screws.
- Output was not dense, with the X axis moving in too large of steps.
Solution
- Switched to an Ender 5 and installed auto leveling, which resolved the issue.
- Aim to get the Tarantula printer working again due to its sentimental value.
Ender 5 Silent Main Board Replacement
Problem
- Silent Creality board on Ender 5 malfunctioned after about 2 months.
- Attempted warranty but China-based manufacturer was uncooperative.
Solution
- Replaced the silent board with the original working board.
- Not recommended to purchase Ender 5 due to the issues encountered.
